Events 2021/2022
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the African Association for Vertical Farming (AAVF) has taken significant strides towards addressing food security challenges in African communities. By focusing on designing, consulting, proposing, and implementing sustainable food systems solutions, AAVF aims to ensure immediate and long-term food security for families across the continent.
Our efforts have been centered on promoting urban and rural agriculture growth while advocating for sustainable practices through our humanitarian initiatives. Our commitment to community engagement in these noble causes has brought us closer to our mission than ever before.
We are immensely proud of our contributions and the impactful work carried out during this challenging period.
In the years 2021 and 2022, AAVF could have chosen to remain passive in response to the Covid-19 crisis, yet we actively engaged in fostering discussions and solutions for food security alongside key stakeholders and global organizations in the agriculture sector. Introducing Smart Farming techniques has been instrumental in ensuring food security for communities and families, empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency and ultimately eliminate hunger and poverty in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals 1-4.
Smart, Precision, and Vertical Farming represent the future of agriculture and are integral to realizing the vision of a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in Africa. With technology rapidly becoming intertwined with agriculture, the continent is witnessing a surge in tech-savvy youth developing innovative solutions such as agricultural applications, drone technologies, and AI mechanisms.
The youth of Africa are driving agriculture towards the next industrial revolution, where digital solutions are paramount. AAVF is dedicated to equipping the youth with modern agricultural strategies, training, and capacity-building initiatives.
By raising awareness on food production and leveraging technology in agriculture, we aim to combat hunger and poverty prevalent in the continent. AAVF serves as a catalyst bridging governments, the private sector, and African youth to introduce smart food systems that are "Made in Africa." Our goal is to showcase innovative technologies that create job opportunities, enabling Africa's youth to participate in the global digital economy and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Africa stands poised to embrace modern technology, empowered by a generation of youth who are eager to catch up after being marginalized for far too long.
